A brand new fish family described in the Amazon

After 40 years researchers from INPA (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia) describe a brand new fish family - Tarumaniidae. The fish inhabits in muddy waters covered with leaves with 1 to 7 meters of water. Click here for the paper and here for the news release (Port.).
